Dulux seasonal trends autumn/winter
Ready to refresh your bedroom and living areas for the cooler months? This season embrace subtle luxury and calming, grounded tones with the Dulux Colour Forecast Still palette.
Before and after: A cosy transformation
Looking to bring back the warmth that was missing, the team drew inspiration from nature, using the soft tones and textures of the Dulux Still palette to create a perfect balance of minimalism and subtle luxury.
"As part of an Edwardian home's extension, the living room and bedroom were mainly white, giving us the perfect canvas to introduce warmth and a depth of colour as well as textured elements across furniture and décor," says Davina Harper, Dulux Senior Brand Manager – Colour. "The Still trend captures that quiet luxury vibe, so to complete the transformation, we chose organic shapes and layered textures such as wool and linen in the bedding and furniture."
Introduce colour into your home
Each colour in the Still palette has a greyed-off, soft and muted undertone giving them a timeless natural quality.

Autumn/Winter styling tips

Hero eco-friendly and natural materials
Create an elegant and sophisticated look with textures such as a boucle armchair, woven throws and cushions, and woollen carpet. Add to this trend with natural materials such as timber and marble.

Add playfulness through decorative vessels
Sculptural ceramics or pottery can add a touch of playfulness to your space without being overly flashy, reflecting the Dulux Still palette trend’s appreciation for craftsmanship.

Minimalist artwork
Consider still life-paintings or prints that celebrate the beauty of everyday objects - a simple bowl of fruit, a bunch of flowers or a solitary chair.

Bring the outdoors in
Soft, buttery yellows mirror the golden tones of changing foliage, whilst earthy neutrals and browns reflect the natural textures and warmth that we associate with this time of year.

Use a neutral base palette
Start with soft neutrals, off-whites or earthy browns for walls and large furniture pieces - particularly in open plan living areas. This allows for accent shades from the palette to shine throughout the room, without overwhelming the space.

Highlight architectural features with colour
Whilst rich shades can help add a sense of luxury to a bedroom and other small spaces (hallways, offices), a cost-efficient way to add drama to your home is by adding colour to architectural features including doors, architraves, ceilings and trims.

Order colour samples
Order colour swatches or sample pots online in your chosen colour(s). Alternatively, Dulux has an online colour advice team and a Colour Design Service if you want a design professional to assist in curating your space.
