The all-white living room was painted in the jewelled burgundy shade of Martinborough, resulting in an emotive and inviting room perfect for nesting in the autumn months. The deep and decadent colour is balanced by Glinks Gully and deep red Carmen on the trims, doors and architraves.
Use art, decor and furnishings in different materials and textures to tie in colours in the room. Embrace the significance of preserving traditions and treasuring heirlooms to blend the journey between the past and present.
This bedroom became a calming sanctuary using the greyed-off blue of Murrays Bay on the walls and Te Horo on the cabinetry. The Journey palette influenced art and textiles such as the floral linens reminiscent of Epsom, earthy-coloured mismatched pillows referencing shades such as Tarras and Crow Valley, and the rich berry Carmen inspiring the curtains and artwork.
Choose a main colour that creates the mood you want in your room, space or home and incorporate different colours from within the Journey palette through accessories, arts and crafts, and treasured heirlooms.
The Journey palette highlights lush green colours Te Horo and Tarras inspired by nature with the muted blues of Murrays Bay and Te Ānau to help to make a space feel larger and tranquil. Elsewhere muted neutral pinks such as Trentham and Evening Blush work seamlessly to create a cohesive look.
The hallway is washed in the warmth of Muriwai Half creating a gentle mood throughout the home. The palette influenced the woven stool, greyed-off green chair and artwork with bolder shades such as dusty mustard Crow Valley, earthy green Te Horo, and red-brown Carmen.
Look around your space to elevate and complement existing features such as this intricate tessellated tiled floor that provided the foundation for colour to unify the look and feel of the home.

Glinks Gully
Glinks Gully is a popular soft and warm sandy neutral. It is great as main wall colour both inside and out. Team it with warm whites such as Cardrona Half and Southern Alps, as well as deeper browns such as Norsewood, Terrible Billy and Colorsteel® Ironsand.
This secondary living space features the refreshing blue-green Te Ānau on the walls, which is perfect for soaking up the autumn sun before the darker winter days. The uplifting colour works as a backdrop for other warmer colours, it can bring some life to an otherwise uninspiring room. Charming and eclectic features, such as a floral ceramic vase and artwork feature pops of pink and grassy greens, and a layered rug in a golden beige creates an uplifting space for rest and relaxation.
To build colour confidence, start in one room with a colour that immediately stands out to you personally. Whether painting just one or two walls or trying colour on an architectural feature, a door or furniture piece or even just a vase can make a huge difference and encourage you to keep going with your colour journey.
