Dulux Colour Awards
The Dulux Colour Awards is New Zealand and Australia's premier showcase of inspirational colour application in interior and exterior residential, public and commercial spaces.
The 39th Dulux Colour Awards are now officially open for entries, inviting architects, interior designers, specifiers, and students from New Zealand and Australia to submit their most innovative and inspiring projects. The prestigious awards celebrate exceptional and creative use of colour in design across a diverse range of interior and exterior spaces, including residential, public, and commercial environments.
Davina Harper, Dulux Colour Manager, describes the annual awards program as a crucial industry platform to recognise excellence in the creative application of colour.
"The Dulux Colour Awards celebrates design and how considered and imaginative use of colour can truly transform the form, feeling and function of a space.

"Similarly, the Australian Grand Prix winner, Alexandria House by Lachlan Seegers Architect absolutely wowed judges for its unpredictability and commitment to a singular gesture in the application of a deep, burnished red to the ceiling of the home.

As part of this year’s judging panel, Alex McLeod says that the Dulux Colour Awards provide an exciting opportunity to witness the creative and inspiring ways that colour is considered in each project to create impact and connection.

Entries close on February 21, 2025. Award finalists will be announced on March 27, 2025, and our winners revealed on May 28, 2025.

Award categories
Dulux encourages entries from individuals, groups, partnerships and large practices, no matter the scale or scope of work. Finalists, excluding students, will be judged for the coveted New Zealand Grand Prix and Australian Grand Prix titles.

Five of New Zealand and Australia’s most prolific architects and designers, who have been recognised and awarded for their own work, will judge the 2025 awards entrants based on innovation, expression and execution of colour.

Entry details
Eligible projects must have been completed between September 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024 and may not have been previously entered into this awards program. A panel of industry leaders will assess the projects.
Entries close on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Finalists will be announced on Thursday, 27 March 2025 on the Dulux website. Each major category winner will receive AU$1,000 in prize money. The Australian Student category winner receives AU$500 and New Zealand category winner receives NZ$500. All New Zealand finalists will receive $1,000 towards travel to the Dulux Colour Awards gala event in Melbourne.
Winners will be announced at the 39th Dulux Colour Awards on Wednesday, 28 May 2025 at the National Gallery of Victoria. The Australian Grand Prix award will be chosen from the Australian category winners, excluding the Student category, and receive AU$5,000. The New Zealand Grand Prix award will be selected from the New Zealand finalists, excluding the Student category, and receive NZ$5,000.
